Porcupine Playground Pals is a family-friendly and eco-friendly NFT collection donating 30% of proceeds to causes that create opportunities for kids to play or provide support to lung cancer patients and families. This generative digital art collection was created by my youngest, O. Siegal, who was only 12 years old when we started, and me. We learned a lot over the 1.5 years of development. It was incredibly fun seeing this artwork come together! It was also incredibly rewarding supporting O’s art, original concept of Connectible Collectibles, and assisting her with her creative vision.
Having to adapt to the quickly changing APIs of libraries for the blockchain was a little less fun, but going live with a soft launch on her birthday made it all worth it.
The main website is a WordPress site while the subdomains mint and my are Next.js React dApps written in JavaScript or TypeScript. I wrote a how-to guide and starter project for other developers interested in writing a mint UI for a Metaplex Candy Machine v3 Account v2 NFT collection.
